Hey everyone!  My Name is Harriet (my foster mom calls me Pinky) and I’m looking for my Furever Home.

My birthday party was 20 Sep 21, I turned 1 year old.  I am a mix of Labrador Retriever and ???? (German Shepherd, Hound).  My foster mom takes very good care of me.  When she took me home in June 2021, I weighed about 28 pounds, but thanks to good living, consistent food, and snacks my weight has jumped to 40pds.  My foster mom doesn’t think I will get much bigger; maybe 5 more pounds.

I’m very talkative, and love to play fetch with all toys and try to catch water from the garden hose.  Not to brag, but I’m pretty talented and goofy at the same time and know I would make an awesome addition to any family.  I have lots of energy, but I’m also an easy-going girl too.  I love following my foster mom around to see what she is doing.  I will go to my crate or lay down on the floor or couch if told to do so; especially when my foster mom has to vacuum (I don’t like the noise it makes).  My foster mom tells me I’m a “good girl” and that makes her smile and me do my wiggle butt dance.  Mom hopes I find my special person/family so I can brighten their days too.

I like other dogs, but not cats; I have only met the feral ones that my mom feeds, but I know I don’t like them.  Right now, I have four (4) foster brothers and one (1) foster sister; we are all about the same size, except for my youngest foster brother (he’s smaller at 23pds).  I get a long best with my 2-year-old foster sister (same size as me), but I would do best with a male dog (same size or bigger) or even be the only dog of the house.

Thanks to my Foster Family I have learned manners; I know how to sit, I’m crate trained (I will sleep in a crate but prefer to be in bed with my foster mom) and house broken. I love to go for walks, and I’m so happy and excited to see and explore everything that I still pull on the leash, but I’m getting better with each walk.

Since I was not socialized or get to experience the “real world” as a puppy, I don’t like loud noises (will bark at cars, thunder, and fireworks), but Mom tells me it’s alright, that nothing is going to hurt me, so that helps me calm down.  So far, my foster mom has been right and now I don’t get scared as much by loud noises.

Last thing and most importantly, I like people, especially once I get to know you better.  However, I will be very cautious when first meeting you or smaller people.  Kids moves so fast and I’m not sure what they are, so proper introductions are a must with young kids (12 and under).  Just know that once I “Like You”, I will want to be next to you and show you how much I like you all the time.  I hope to meet you soon, I need more belly rubs.  Bye for now Pinky, I mean Harriet
